According to a study from UMAS in 2020, US$1-1.4 trillion is needed to achieve the IMO’s carbon reduction ambition by 2050. Below funding initiatives can accelerate the pace of decarbonisation by directing funds towards research & innovation projects (Horizon Europe) & to projects which don't need further RD&I but are not yet economically viable (Innovation Fund).
